Connectivity New iSCSI server module - This purpose-built iSCSI bridge server enables 1Gbit connections to Ethernet clients, while maintaining the same management tools and virtual volume access as the faster fiber channel clients. Up to 60 clients can be conencted on a TerraBlock network with no license fees, and these can be a mix of Ethernet and Fibre. |
Virtual Volumes TerraBlock is the only shared storage system in the industry to offer virtual volume capabilities with no client software. With TerraBlock 3.0, virtual volumes offer a higher maximum capacity of 8TB for Windows 32bit clients, and larger for Mac OSX and 64bit Windows clients. In addition, the Change Volume feature now includes the ability to dynamically expand volume size for both Windows and OSX clients on the fly, and without reformatting or loosing data! |
|
Read-Only Volumes TerraBlock derives its impressive performance through a volume-level structure, using virtual volume creation to add flexibility to the workflow design. In 3.0, both Windows and OSX clients have the ability to schedule background updates to read-only volumes, down to a one minute interval. Operators will not even notice the updates taking place, and newly written files are available almost immediately |

TerraBlock Manager For 3.0, Facilis introduces a new Linux version of the TerraBlock Manager software. With all the features of the Mac and Windows versions, Linux clients now have fully supported status. Other new features of TerraBlock Manager include a single line display for Tandem spanned volumes, color-coded read, write and error volume states and a display for volume creation date. In Mac OSX, an expert mode has been added to simplify daily operations. |

Administration For the system administrator, new tools allow for a higher degree of control and alerting. Email notification for server and drive errors has been added as well as export of server statistics to CSV files. Through the server TerraBlock Manager there is also a drive error reset and the ability to mount or un-mount virtual volumes remotely. TerraBlock 3.0 also offers an optional re-mount of all client volumes after server reboot. |
